Allergies Related to Avocado

People suffering from latex allergy can have allergic symptoms after eating avocados. This can also be called latex-food syndrome or latex-fruit allergy. Latex products can be made from a protein in the sap of the Brazilian rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis).

Avocados contain a very similar protein, which is what causes the allergic reaction. Your symptoms can be mild. But they can also get worse each time you have avocados. It is recommended that you stop eating avocados as soon as you notice any of the symptoms below and consult your physician.
