Dates are considered to be the best source of antioxidants, apart from minerals and vitamins. But contrary to popular belief,  their role in weight loss is unfounded. Although, according to a clinical trial,  researchers concluded that eating fewer than 4 dates per day does not lead to weight gain.

Date is higher on sugar but their overall glycemic index is low. This means that although they have sugar, their consumption leads to a minuscule change in blood sugar levels compared to other sources of sugar.
