Food is a crucial intervention for women going through PCOD. There should be a deep understanding regarding which foods are healthy and appear to help people manage their disease and which foods should be avoided.

The following list includes three diets that may aid PCOD sufferers in controlling their symptoms:

  • A diet having a low glycemic index: Because foods with a lower GI take longer for the body to digest, they do not raise insulin levels as fast or dramatically as those with a higher GI, like some carbohydrates, do. Whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, fruits, non-starchy vegetables, and other unprocessed, low-carbohydrate foods are all part of a low GI diet.
  • Anti-inflammatory foods: This includes foods like berries, fatty fish like salmon, leafy greens, and extra virgin olive oil, which may help reduce the symptoms of inflammation.
