How does Keto work?

The keto diet works to restrict carbohydrate intake, which is your body’s main source of energy. Your body breaks down stored fat and creates ketones to use as energy instead if the required carbohydrates don’t become available.

However, calories still matter. If you overeat protein and fat, and your total calories are beyond what your body is burning, you will still not see weight loss. For weight loss to happen, your keto diet should be high in fat and protein (the foundation of this diet) whilst your overall calorie intake should be in check too.
