Flaxseeds contain a component known as Phytoestrogenic components that can cause hormonal imbalance in expecting mothers. Meanwhile, it also can interfere with the fertility and development of the fetus. However, overconsumption of flaxseeds can lead to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOD), uterine cancer as well as ovarian cancer.
Flaxseeds contain omega-3 fatty acids, and if consumed in excess, may cause an increase in blood sugar levels. Diabetics should be extremely mindful of the amount of these seeds they consume.
