Safawi, Mashrook, Mabroom, Ajwa, and Black are a few of the varieties of dates containing different amounts of nutrients in each one of them(based on a research study)

  • Carbohydrate content:

    The carbohydrate content in these varieties is Safawi which has the most carb content while Mabroom has the lowest among these. (Safawi>Ajwa>Mashrook>Black>Mabroom)
  • Calcium content:

    Mashrook has the highest content of calcium while Black has the lowest. (Mashrook>Ajwa>Mabroom>Safawi>Black)
  • Iron content:

    While Black contains the lowest iron content, Safawi has the highest.(Safawi>Mabroom>Mashrook>Ajwa>Black)
  • Copper content:

    Unlike other nutrients, copper content is almost the same in all of the varieties.

A comparative study of these variants makes us realize that unless we know how rich or poor the nutrient content is we should not come to a conclusion especially about dietary choices.
