Makhanas also known as fox nuts and Phool makhana are seeds that are often used in quite a few Indian sweets and savouries like kheer, raita, or makhana curry, and are also eaten with the evening tea as a snack.
Makhanas are highly produced and cultivated in the state of Bihar in India, Korea, and Japan along with a few parts of eastern Russia. They are totally plant-based which makes them a perfect vegan-friendly snack. They are also gluten-free which makes them an ideal snack for people with celiac and gluten allergies.
