Foods in Keto diet

A ketogenic diet basically mandates a low carbohydrate and high fat diet. However, the amount of protein included in the diet is moderate. Foods that are low in calories and carbs, like nonstarchy vegetables, but high in vitamin C and several minerals are usually included in the diet. These vegetables are also rich in antioxidants that help protect against cell-damaging free radicals.

It is recommended to include nonstarchy vegetables with less than 8 g of net carbs (Net carbs are total carbohydrates minus fibre) per cup. Bell peppers, cauliflower, green beans, broccoli, zucchini, and spinach can all be included. Cheese also fits the bill as it has zero carbohydrates and is high in fat.
