What good are Mangoes?

Mango which is popularly known as the “king of fruits” is one of the most popular and nutritious fruit. Regardless of the type of mango you eat, they will surely offer some impressive health benefits.

Mangoes are rich in a pigment known as beta-carotene which is responsible for the yellow-orange color of the fruit. Beta-carotene is an antioxidant that is known to fight free radicals, which has can cause damage to your cells and potentially lead to certain kinds of cancer.

Mangoes are a great source of potassium and magnesium too, which can both lower blood pressure and promote a regular pulse. They are also a source of a compound called mangiferin, which according to some studies may reduce inflammation in the heart.
