What is a dash diet?

The full form of the dash diet is Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. This is a diet that is used to help and treat people having high blood pressure issues (Hypertension). This diet is rich in calcium, magnesium, and potassium which help maintain blood pressure. This diet limits the intake of saturated fat, sodium, and added sugar.

This diet also can lower low-density lipoprotein (LDL or "bad") cholesterol levels in the blood. High blood pressure and high LDL cholesterol levels are considered to be two major risk factors for heart disease and stroke.
