Kiwi which is also known as Chinese gooseberry is becoming one of the most common allergens across the world.
What is a kiwi allergy?

Kiwi which is also known as Chinese gooseberry is becoming one of the most common allergens across the world. They have mild symptoms at first but they do pose to become severe at a later stage.

There are normally 2 types of allergic reactions to kiwi.

  1. Standard food allergy: It can involve abdominal symptoms, rash, and breathing problems.
  2. Oral allergy syndrome (OAS): It is also known as pollen-food allergy syndrome (PFAS), and is a condition where the body mistakes certain foods for pollen-producing a mild allergic reaction. Symptoms of OAS are itching in the mouth, lips, tongue, or throat and welling of the mouth and throat that pass quickly.
