How To Cook?

In a pan, combine 30 ml of water, 25 grams of sugar, and turmeric. simmer until all the water has evaporated and the turmeric is nicely candied.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the butter and the remaining sugar until fluffy. add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.

Fold in the sieved all-purpose flour and baking powder into the batter. then, gently fold in the candied turmeric. pour the batter into a lined 8-inch cake tin.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius and bake the cake for approximately 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

While the cake is baking, prepare the orange syrup. in a pan, combine orange juice, zest from half an orange, and the flesh of 2-3 orange segments. boil the mixture until it reduces by half.
