To prepare steamed chana dal balls (bhojpuri style bafauri), soak the chana dal in water for 3 to 4 hours.

Drain the soaked chana dal and grind it to a smooth paste using a mixer grinder. transfer it to a bowl.

Pound the garlic cloves and green chillies using a pestle and mortar, then add them to the bowl of ground chana dal.

Finely chop the onion and coriander leaves, and add them to the bowl along with carom seeds. season with salt.

Mix all the ingredients well to form a dough-like mixture.
