To prepare the basil and betel leaves rasam, start by cleaning the betel leaves and breaking them into two parts. remove the middle stem.

Separate the basil leaves from their stems and wash them thoroughly.

In a mixer grinder, combine the betel leaves, basil leaves, garlic cloves, black pepper powder, cumin seeds, tamarind pulp, and a little water. grind them into a paste.

In a pan, add the paste, ginger, ripe tomato, curry leaves, salt, turmeric powder, and asafoetida.

Cook for 2 minutes and then add water.
