How To Cook?

Begin by washing the big thyme (karpooravalli) leaves thoroughly.

Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a heavy-bottomed pan, then add urad dal and chana dal. fry them until they turn golden brown in color.

Add red chillies and big thyme leaves, saute until the leaves shrink.

Allow the mixture to cool down.

Transfer the cooled mixture to a blender jar, and add grated coconut, tamarind pulp, asafoetida, and a little water.
