How To Cook?

To prepare pahari style phanu, soak the arhar dal and urad dal in water for 1 to 2 hours.

Once soaked, add the soaked lentils to a pressure cooker along with tomato, ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, and salt.

Close the pressure cooker and cook until it reaches 6 whistles.

Turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release naturally.

After the pressure is released, open the cooker and add asafoetida, salt to taste, and some water. mix and mash the dal slightly.
