Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. add cumin seeds and asafoetida. allow them to splutter.

Add finely chopped onions and green chillies to the pan. saute until the onions turn translucent.

Meanwhile, finely chop the green onions and fresh coriander leaves.

In a mixing bowl, combine besan flour, chopped green onions, fresh coriander leaves, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and salt. mix well.

Gradually add water to the besan mixture to form a smooth batter of pouring consistency. make sure there are no lumps.
