How To Cook?

Rinse the rice and moong dal together and soak them in water for about one hour.

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and add asafoetida (hing) and cumin seeds. once they crackle, add the green chilies.

Add grated carrots, peas, salt, garam masala, and turmeric powder to the cooker. saute for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.

Drain the soaked rice and dal mixture and add it to the cooker. mix well with the saute ingredients.

Add water to achieve the desired consistency for the khichdi.
