In a pan, heat 2 teaspoons of oil and fry the onions and garlic cloves until the onions turn transparent. add chopped tomatoes.

Continue frying until the tomatoes are soft. remove from heat and let it cool.

Once cooled, transfer the mixture to a blender and grind it into a smooth paste.

Heat a pan with the remaining oil and temper it with cardamom, cumin seeds, and ginger.

Add diagonally cut green chillies and sliced capsicum. fry for a minute or two.
