To prepare the spicy tomato fish curry, marinate the fish with salt and turmeric powder.

Heat mustard oil in a wok and shallow fry the fish on both sides until they turn crispy and golden. set aside.

In the same wok, add bay leaves and cumin seeds. fry for 1 minute and then add the chopped tomatoes. saute well.

Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt to the tomato mixture. saute until the tomatoes soften.

Stir in the ginger paste and coarsely crushed green chilies. saute until the raw smell disappears and the oil floats.
