How To Cook?

Soak the green chickpeas for 6 to 8 hours or overnight. rinse them well and add them to a pressure cooker along with salt and 3/4 cup of water.

Pressure cook the chickpeas for 6 whistles over low-medium flame. press and check if they are easily mashable, then set them aside.

In a kadai or skillet, heat oil and add the mustard seeds, split urad dal, curry leaves, red chili, and asafoetida. let them splutter.

Add the cooked chickpeas along with the water (do not drain). let them cook for a few minutes until the water is absorbed.

In a mixer jar, add fresh coconut, cumin seeds, and green chili. grind them to a coarse mixture.
