How To Cook?

Wash and soak the arhar dal in water for about 30 minutes. drain the water and keep it aside.

In a large pot, cook the soaked dal with enough water until it becomes soft and mushy. set it aside.

In a separate bowl, soak the tamarind pulp in warm water for about 10-15 minutes. extract the tamarind juice and discard the pulp.

In a deep pan, heat some sunflower oil. add sliced onions and cook until they turn translucent.

Add chopped tomatoes, diced chayote squash, and sambar powder. cook until the tomatoes and chayote become soft.
