How To Cook?

Start by dry-roasting cumin seeds, green chilies, and grated coconut in a nonstick pan until they release their aroma. set aside to cool before grinding them into a coarse paste.

Clean the spinach leaves and chop them along with their stems.

In a pressure cooker, saute the onions and add tamarind water, toor dal, chopped spinach, and tomatoes. pressure cook for about 3 whistles until everything is cooked through.

Once the pressure is naturally released, use a muddler to coarsely mash the dal and other ingredients into a curry-like consistency.

Adjust the seasoning and consistency of the dal mixture by adding water if necessary.
