How To Cook?

Heat oil in a frying pan or kadai, then add cumin seeds, finely chopped ginger, finely chopped green chilies, and crushed garlic cloves. saute for a few seconds.

Add finely chopped onions and saute until they turn translucent. then, add asafoetida, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and coriander powder. saute until the spices become fragrant.

Add soaked chana dal (split bengal gram), salt, and a little water. mix well and cover the pan. cook for 3-4 minutes.

Uncover the pan and add chopped french beans. mix everything together and cover the pan again. cook for 5-7 minutes until the beans become tender.

Remove the lid and add chopped tomatoes. saute for a minute until the tomatoes soften slightly. finish the dish by garnishing it with chopped coriander leaves.
